A Lover's Wrath

“Why did you kiss me?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper, as I tried to process what had just happened.

Ralph smirked, wiping the lipstick from his lips with a languid gesture. “Is there something unusual about me kissing you?” He asked, his eyes glinting with mischief.

I shook my head, still trying to clear the cobwebs. “No, I just...I didn’t expect it.”

Ralph chuckled, his eyes sparkling with amusement. He licked his thumb and raised an eyebrow, his gaze never leaving mine. And then, without warning, he pecked my lips again, his mouth brushing against mine in a fleeting, tantalizing touch.

“What the hell, Ralph?” I exclaimed, my eyes narrowing into crescent moons as I tried to sound angry, but my voice was laced with a hint of excitement.

Ralph just laughed, his eyes sparkling with amusement. “Why didn’t you push me away?” He teased, his voice low and husky. “You enjoyed it, didn’t you?”

My ears flamed red as Ralph continued to taunt me, his words dripping with sarcasm. “Should I explain what’s going on in that head of yours, or what you’re thinking of right now?” He asked, his gaze piercing mine with an unnerving intensity.

I tried to come up with a witty retort, but my mind was a jumbled mess of emotions. All I could do was stand there, my heart racing, as Ralph’s words hung in the air like a challenge, daring me to reveal my true feelings.

“Hush!! There’s nothing going on in my head,” I muttered, groaning as I looked away, trying to hide the turmoil brewing inside me.

But before Ralph could respond, I felt a searing pain in my head, and everything went black. I fell to the ground, groaning in agony, as an ear-piercing yell echoed through the forest. “RALPH!” I screamed, my voice hoarse with pain.

He rushed to my side, lifting me up with a gentle touch. His eyes widened in horror as he saw the blood flowing down from my forehead, and tears threatening to fall from my eyes.

A group of men stood before us, their faces twisted in cruel grins. Some held beer bottles, while others had cigarettes dangling from their lips. One of them, clearly the one who had hit me, sneered at me with a vicious gleam in his eye. The stench of alcohol wafted off them, making my stomach turn.

Ralph’s eyes narrowed, his gaze fixed on the man who had hurt me. He understood in an instant that this was the one who had caused my pain. His fists clenched, and I knew he was ready to fight to protect me.

“Hand her over to us, and we might let you live.” One of the men sneered, his eyes fixed on me with a lecherous gaze that made my skin crawl.

Ralph’s eyes turned a piercing black, his pupils constricting with a fierce intensity that seemed to bore into the souls of the men before us. He didn’t let me defend myself when I tried chanting spells, his grip on my arm tightening as he pulled me closer to him in a protective embrace.

“Dare to look at her again, and I’ll gouge out your eyes with my bare hands.” He growled, his voice low and menacing, the words dripping with a venomous intensity that sent shivers down the spines of the men before us. “Think about taking a step closer, and I’ll tear your limbs apart. You’ll beg for mercy, but it will be too late. This woman is mine, my lover, my everything. You’ve sealed your fate by crossing me.”

The men snickered, but Ralph’s words sent a chill down their spines. They knew they had crossed a line, and now they would face the consequences of their actions.

“You’ve signed your own death warrant with your foolish words,” Ralph continued, his eyes blazing with fury, his voice dripping with a malevolent intensity that seemed to crackle with energy. “Now, you’ll face the punishment of the devil himself. You’ll beg for forgiveness, but it will be too late. You’ll suffer, and you’ll burn.”

The air seemed to crackle with tension as Ralph’s words hung in the air, a promise of retribution that sent shivers down the spines of the men who had dared to threaten me. They knew they were no match for the fury that stood before them, and they trembled with fear, knowing they were about to face the wrath of the devil himself.

The surroundings shifted in an instant, and I found myself standing on a terrain of fire and rocks. I cried out in agony as my feet burned, the flames licking at my skin like hungry tongues.

“Forgive me,” Ralph whispered, his voice laced with regret as he swept me into his arms, cradling me like a child. “I totally forgot.”

He settled me onto a crystal boulder, its cool surface a blessed respite from the burning ground. His fingers brushed against my legs, and the wound vanished in an instant, as if it had never been.

Meanwhile, the men who had threatened us found themselves in a serene and tranquil environment, a paradise of lush greenery and sparkling water. But Ralph's words sent a chill down their spines.

“Enjoy this,” he said, his voice dripping with malice. “It's the silence before hell is condemned upon you.”

With a swift motion, Ralph grasped the neck of the man who had thrown a stone at me, his grip like a vice. He shoved the man against a rock, and his wings spread wide, casting a dark shadow over the scene.

The man's eyes went wide with terror as Ralph's wings beat the air, creating a whirlwind that seemed to draw the very soul out of him. I watched in a mix of horror and awe as Ralph's power unfolded, his wrath a forced to be reckoned with.

“You made a grave mistake, one that will cost you dearly,” Ralph hissed, his eyes blazing with fury as he gazed at the men who had dared to threaten me. “Didn’t I warn you already? Didn’t I make it clear that she is under my protection? Yet you had the audacity to gaze at my woman, to lay eyes on what is mine. I’ll show you what it means to be in agony, to suffer as I have suffered.”

With a swift motion, Ralph flew into the air, his body swirling in circles as he hurled the man who had thrown the stone down to the ground without a second thought. The man’s scream echoed through the air as he plummeted towards the hellish mud, his body slamming into it with a sickening thud. Ralph’s smile was sadistic as he gazed down at the man, his head smashed against the ground, his body twitching in agony.

The dead man’s companions tried to flee, but they were no match for Ralph’s power. They were trapped in his territory, and there was no escape. Ralph had ensnared them in his maze, a glass cube encasing them like insects in a spider’s web. They pounded against the walls, their fists bloody and bruised, but it was no use. They were at Ralph’s mercy, and he was in no mood to show any.

“You should have listened.” Ralph taunted, his voice dripping with malevolence as he stood outside the cube, his eyes gleaming with a wicked light. “You should have heeded my warning. Now, you’ll suffer the consequences of crossing me. You’ll know what it means to be in hell, to be tormented by the devil himself.”

The men cowered, their eyes wide with terror as they realized they were at the mercy of a being with powers beyond their comprehension. Ralph’s wrath was a force to be reckoned with, and they were about to experience its full fury. They begged for mercy, their voices hoarse from screaming, but Ralph just laughed, his voice echoing off the walls as he savored their despair.

“You’ll never leave this place,” he hissed, his eyes glinting with malevolence. “You’ll never see the light of day again. You’ll be trapped here, forever, suffering as I have suffered. And I’ll be the one to make sure of it.”

“I would love to personally handle you all now,” Ralph said, his voice dripping with malevolence, his eyes gleaming with a sinister light. “But where’s the fun in that? It’s my dream to be an innocent man in her eyes. My slaves shall handle you. Until I’m back, and we can continue this...dance.”

With a wave of his hand, three disfigured monsters emerged from the shadows, their faces twisted in grotesque grins, their eyes glowing with an otherworldly light. Saliva dripped from their mouths as they licked their lips at the sight of the men crying and begging for mercy. Ralph glared at his subordinates, his eyes flashing with warning.

“Make sure you don’t eat these fools up before I return, or you know what’s going to happen.” He growled, his voice low and menacing, his words sending a shiver down the spines of the cowering men. “I want them to suffer, to beg for mercy, to know the true meaning of fear. And when I return, we’ll continue this...game.”

The monsters bowed their heads in submission, their eyes fixed on the ground, their voices like a dark chant. “Yes, master! We’ll make sure they’re still breathing when you return.”

Ralph nodded his head, seemingly satisfied, and disappeared into the darkness, leaving me alone with the monsters. I couldn’t help but gulp at the sight of the deceased man, his body still smoldering from Ralph’s flames, the stench of burning flesh filling the air. But before I could process what was happening, Ralph reappeared beside me, his presence catching me off guard.

“Stop staring at meaningless things.” He hissed, his voice in my ear, his breath cold and menacing. “Focus on me. I’m your ultimate goal. Your only desire should be to please me, to make me happy.”

He could sense the lack of trust I had built in him, the doubt that lingered in my eyes like a shadow. Bending down, he lifted my chin, his fingers gentle yet firm, his gaze piercing like a dagger. “You know I’m a bad creature, don’t you?” he whispered, his voice low and husky, his words laced with a hint of menace. “Granting death is my profession. I’ve walked the fine line between life and death for so long, it’s become a habit. Nonetheless, I shall never let death stand at your doorstep. It ain’t meant for you. None could kill you, not even the Lord sitting up there, watching us with cold, calculating eyes.”

He pointed at the sky, his eyes gleaming with a fierce intensity, his words a promise, a vow etched in blood. And then, he asked the same question I had asked him weeks ago, his voice barely above a whisper, his tone laced with a hint of vulnerability. “Do you love me, my dear? Do you love me despite all my flaws, all my sins?”

My heart raced like a wild animal as I gazed into his eyes, my voice barely above a whisper, my words trembling like a leaf. “Yes, I love you. I do. I love you insanely, Ralph. I love you more than life itself. I’ve always loved you, even when I thought I shouldn’t.”

Ralph’s eyes flashed with emotion, his face softening, his gaze filled with a deep longing, a hunger that threatened to consume us both. He didn’t want to run away anymore; he wanted to be honest, brutally honest with his emotions and feelings. Wrapping his arms around me, he pecked my forehead, his lips gentle, his touch sending shivers down my spine like a cold breeze on a winter night.

“I’d destroy this world if I had to,” he whispered, his voice fierce, his words a promise, a threat. “In order to protect you. I’d burn it all down, just to keep you safe. I’d kill anyone who dared to hurt you, who dared to take you away from me. You’re mine. Mine to love, mine to protect, mine to cherish.”

His words sent a thrill through me, his love and devotion palpable, his embrace a shield against the darkness that lurked outside, waiting to pounce. I knew I was trapped in his web, but I didn’t care. I was his, and he was mine, and together, we would face whatever lay ahead, hand in hand, heart to heart, our love a flame that would burn bright, no matter the cost.
